Remedial Massage Therapy with Handfuls of Massage

1. What is remedial massage?
Remedial massage is the systematic assessment and treatment of the muscles, tendons, ligaments and connective tissues of the body to assist in rehabilitation, pain and injury management.
It creates favourable conditions for the body to return to normal health after injury. If a patient has suffered a moderate injury resulting in structural pain and/or loss of function, then remediation is required to reduce or eliminate pain and restore that function.
Remedial massage is designed to balance muscle/soft tissue length, tension, and tone which will in turn promote the return to normal joint/capsular/bone position; increase the flow of blood and lymph, particularly in the injured areas, thus removing blockages, damaged cells, scar tissue and adhesions resulting from injuries.

2. When should I ABSOLUTELY avoid a massage?
Acute stage pneumonia

Advance kidney failure

Advanced respiratory failure

Diabetes with complications

Eclampsia-toxaemia in pregnancy

Haemorrhage

Liver failure

Post heart attack or stroke

Shock

Fever

Systematic contagious/ infectious conditions

Blood clot

3. Do I need to pay upfront/ deposit to secure booking?  Yes, to avoid appointment no-show and last-minute cancellation, I do require full upfront payment to secure your booking. Your booking will not be confirmed until the deposit is received.

4. What is your cancellation policy?

No cancellation fee if cancelled within 24hr

100% of the full cost will be charged.

Late Arrival
Your late arrival will require that we charge you the full rate but will need to end the session at the scheduled time, meaning your session will be shorter. We have reserved this time for you and only you and have other people scheduled immediately after your appointment. Please plan your appointment accordingly.

5. What should I wear to treatment ?
Please wear comfortable clothing as you may be required to undress to underwear before the start of the session.

6. I am a member of LGBTQIA, can I come for a massage? And do you provide "extra" services?
YES, I am a proud gay man and I do not discriminate against my clients based on their gender, pronouns, sexual orientation, religion and cultural background.

NO "extra" services of sexual nature will be provided.
Should a client initiate such a conversation, treatment will end immediately.

7. How many therapists are there working for Handfuls of Massage and can I choose my therapist?
I work for myself and therefore you can't choose your therapist.

8. Are you vaccinated?
Yes, I am triple vaxxed.

9. I am not vaccinated, can I have a massage?
Yes, you can.
Under the Public Health Order, a client seeking treatment from a remedial massage therapist or myotherapist is NOT required to be vaccinated.

10. I just had my vaccination shot, can I have a massage?
Please allow at least 3 days post-vaccination for a massage.

11. I am tested positive for Covid/ not feeling well, can I have a massage?
Absolutely NO. Please reschedule your session

12. Is there any extra charges on top of your fees?
$25 is applicable if free parking is not available within 10m from address.

$25 is applicable for bookings made outside opening hours and WA public holidays.(Subject to availability)

Travel fees may apply if travel distance is more than 10km

13. What is your trading hours?
Monday to Thursday - 0900 - 1700
Friday - 0900 - 1500
Saturday to Sunday - Subject to availability

14. Why do you only work such hours?
I believe there should be a good work-life balance so that I can provide my clients with an excellent service.

15. I am pregnant, can I receive a massage from you?
Yes but please advice stage of pregnancy prior to booking.

16. Is HICAPS available?
No, but an invoice will be provided for claim through your health fund.

17. Do I have to pay upfront?

YES, upfront payment is required to secure the booking.
